This is HumedArte

Humedarte is the fusion of the words Humedal (Spanish for wetland) and Arte (art).

On the basis of small esthetical objects of botanical jewellery, we intend to produce amazement and interest for the marvelous diversity and botanical beauty of the endangered Chilean mires and wetlands. Here you can have a look at the objects which were made until now.  You can actively support our work of spreading information and enchantment of these beautiful ecosystems by obtaining one of these little artworks, either for you or as a present for others.

Each piece comes with an etiquette of recycled material giving information about the species and the scientific name. The first series contains species from coastal wetlands of the Valdivian Rainforest ecoregion. All HumedArte works were made with parts from common (and not endangered) wetland or mire species. Each collected plant is further subdivided in various parts, with one individual yielding material for many artworks, in order to not impair the plants reproduction at a site. The parts of the plants are embedded in epoxy resin, together with color pigments, and are planted on a metal pendant, either as a charm, a key chain or earrings.
